Tissue Fusion

The Laser Tissue Fusion device is set to revolutionize various medical surgeries and procedures by eliminating the need for staples and sutures. For instance, during a standard rhinoplasty or septoplasty surgery, the surgeon makes incisions in the nose which are then later closed using staples or sutures. With the Laser Tissue Fusion technology, surgeons would be able to fuse tissue together using an 808nm fiber laser. The device shoots the laser through a tweezer-like device (above) that holds the tissue together. Once the tissue reaches a certain temperature, the tissue is essentially welded together in a waterproof seal. Because no sutures or staples are used, recovery time and patient discomfort are drastically reduced.
